Greater Greer Chamber Hires Furman University Intern
May 17, 2012
Nathan Wade II, an economics major at Furman University, has been chosen to serve as an intern at the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce through a partnership between the university and the chamber. Wade began his work on May 14, 2012 and will assist the staff in various ways including administrative support, membership retention, office organization and marketing.
A native of Nashville, TN, Nathan graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in 2008 and entered Furman on a full athletic scholarship (football) in the fall of 2008. Nathan will be a 5th year senior at Furman University and will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in economics in December 2012. Since studying economics since the fall of 2009, Nathan looks forward to the opportunity of working with the chamber and the Greer community.
This will be the first intern from Furman University and the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is eager to further the relationship between the two establishments. “We look forward to working with Nathan and are confident he will be an asset to our organization,” says Chamber President, Allen Smith. The Chamber is interested in promoting internships through Furman University in the future and specializing each internship to the field in which the intern is pursuing.
