Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce Recognizes Langley & Associates Architects, LLC as the 2008 Small Business of the Year

(GREER, SC) The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce recognized Langley & Associates Architects, LLC as the 2008 Small Business of the Year. The award was presented at the Small Business Awards Luncheon presented by Village at Pelham Occupational Health and Rehabilitation Services on May 21, 2008. Langley & Associates Architects was established in 1995 and is an architectural and planning design firm. The firm is a general practice firm working on various project types which include residential, religious, health care, office, retail, hospitality, and urban planning. In the beginning, Langley & Associates had one employee but today has grown to seven employees including three professional architects. Their small firm size and engagement and collaboration of their architects and staff provides excellent client and customer services. This is evident by their strong referral network which results in over 75% of their projects being referred to them by existing clients.
Over the past years, sales have increased by more than 100% and continue to rise today. Much of their work can be seen in Greer’s downtown area with projects such as Bistro 107; Gerard’s; The Great Bay Oyster House; The Bullpen Sports Grill; Neuenhauser Offices-Interior Upfit; City of Greer Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices; plus many more.
David Langley serves as President of Langley and Associates and has been instrumental in the growth of Greer through his community service and leadership. His community service includes: past member of he City of Greer Historic Review Board; Member of City of Greer Sign Ordinance Committee; Past Member and Past Chairman of the Greer Events Committee of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce; Past Member of the Chamber’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors; Member of the Board of Trustees for Partnership for Tomorrow; and member of AIA, SCAIA and Greenville AIA since 1990.
The purpose of the Small Business of the Year Award is to recognize small businesses that have a special entrepreneurial spirit, a unique marketing approach, or a special focus on the customer that results in a successful business. To qualify for the award organizations must have fewer than 100 employees or have sales of under five million dollars. In addition, the qualifying firm must have completed three or more full years of operation and be locally owned and operated.
During the 2008 Small Business Awards Luncheon the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce recognized all small businesses for their contribution to the Greer business community. George Fletcher, Executive Director of New Carolina was the guest speaker.
