Greer Chamber Hosts Coffee and Conversation

(GREER, SC) The Greer Chamber hosted a new event Tuesday morning at 8 am where 15 members of the chamber came for coffee and doughnuts to meet the new Chairman of the Board, Vic Grout. The morning consisted of individuals from various industries sharing concerns and ideas on the current economy and ways to improve their business.
Chairman Vic Grout shared his thoughts and new ideas for 2009 and discussed some of the new and existing Chamber programs to help member businesses. He introduced the Political Action Committee and shared the Chamber’s legislative agenda as well. Mr. Grout also touched on his idea of a small business convention to benefit small businesses that is in the planning stages for this summer.
There were a variety of business industries represented and the members got to share some of their ideas for new programs and ways to help small businesses prosper. The Chief of Police, Dan Reynolds, was there to share some safety tips on how to protect your place of business as well as your business assets. He also shared that the Police Department is hosting a seminar, “Self Defense for Woman,” Thursday the 29th at 6pm at the Village Hospital.
This morning event provides a great way for Greer Chamber members to interact, network, and discuss pertinent issues in our community. The next event is scheduled for April.
