Greer Chamber to host Annual Small Business Awards Luncheon April 8
March 26, 2010
(GREER, SC) The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that John Warner, PhD, will be the guest speaker at the Annual Small Business Awards Luncheon on Thursday April 8 at the Greenville Marriott. The luncheon is being held in conjunction with the Community Commerce Convention.
Presenting Sponsor for the event is Prudential C. Dan Joyner.
The luncheon will feature two awards: The Small Business of the Year award and the 2nd Annual Professional Woman in Business Award. The purpose of the Small Business of the Year award is to recognize small businesses that have a special entrepreneurial spirit, a unique marketing approach, or a special focus on the customer that results in a successful business. To qualify for the award organizations must have fewer than 100 employees or have sales of fewer than five million dollars. In addition, the qualifying firm must have completed three or more full years of operation and be locally owned and operated. The 2nd Annual Professional Woman in Business Award is a great way to recognize a female in the working environment that has not only excelled in her career but has encouraged and supported other women to do the same.
“We are thrilled each year to give these awards to a deserving small business and a woman in business who have made an impact on the Greater Greer community,” stated Larry Wilson, Interim President of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce.
John Warner is a Clemson University MBA Professor, founder of the Swamp Fox Community and creator of the InnoVenture conference. He is a recognized leader in the southeastern innovation and entrepreneurial community.
