Owens Promoted to Vice President of Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Mark Owens has been promoted to the position of Vice President. Owens has been with the Chamber for four years as the Director of Programs and Events and the Director of Business Development. This promotion was effective immediately.

“This is good news for Mark but great news for the Chamber, our members and community, stated Allen Smith, President/CEO of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce. “This new position has been in the works for several months and will undoubtedly lead to an improvement in our existing offerings and a renewed commitment to new offerings that will be of tremendous benefit to the members and community we serve.”

Owens new position will include an expanded role in overall organizational management.  Owens will also have an enhanced working relationship with the Chamber’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors as one of the two Chamber’s lead executives.

Over the last four years, Owens has effectively led the Greater Greer Chamber in sponsorships, business development programs, adult and junior leadership development programs, and Chamber networking events. “We have a great team at the Greer Chamber, and I am honored and excited about this new opportunity and look forward to continuing to serve our members at a high level,” says Owens.

A native of Charleston, SC, Owens graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Business Administration. He also participated as a scholarship athlete on the Presbyterian College soccer team.
