Chamber Hires Summer Intern

Emily Turman, a recent graduate of Junior Leadership Greer Class XXI, has been hired to serve as a summer intern at the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce. Turman began her work on July 6 and will assist the staff in various ways including administrative support, membership retention, office organization and marketing.
As a rising junior at Blue Ridge High School, Emily has been involved in both school and community activities. Her extra-curricular involvement includes: Student Government, Beta Club Member, FCA, JV Basketball team, and the Varsity Tennis Team. Also, she has been a volunteer as a Greenville Hospital Junior Volunteer, Mt. Lebanoon Baptist Church youth member, MissionLab-New Orleans,and with Junior Leadership Greer.
The Junior Leadership Greer program, sponsored by the Greer Chamber, began in 1989 as a class project of Leadership Greer Class X. The program is designed to identify potential leaders from area high schools, stimulate their awareness in the community, develop a spirit of cooperation for the accomplishment of goals, foster communication and understanding between student and community leaders, and to identify opportunities for community involvement.
