Date Announced for Upcoming Oktoberfest

July 16, 2010

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce has announced the date for the 5th Annual Greer Station Oktoberfest in downtown Greer: Saturday, October 2! This downtown event is the most unique event in the upstate as it features only the best German music, German foods, and German beer. Traditional lederhosen and dirndl, the authentic dress, is always encouraged at this event. Sponsorships are available for the 2010 event and are a great opportunity to market and promote your business to over 15,000 attendees. Please call the Greer Chamber at 877.3131 if you are interested.

Local artists are featured on Trade Street and artists are encouraged to visit for an application to participate. This is a great opportunity for artists to display and sell their artwork to the upstate. Festival organizers want to feature additional artists this year selling fine arts ranging from oil paintings, ceramics, photography, woodwork, jewelry and much more. Fees for artists are $35 for a 10’ x 10’ spot in downtown Greer.

The Chamber is also seeking participation from local restaurants for the Greer Oktoberfest. Bratwurst, knockwurst, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, soft pretzels, cream puffs, potato salad, schnitzel, Rueben sandwiches, and sausage with peppers and onions are just some of the foods the event is seeking to feature.  “We like to encourage restaurants to get an application and participate because this is a great community event that they won’t want to miss,” stated Dana Martin with the Greer Chamber. Restaurants are encouraged to visit to download an application. Applications are due by August 16.
