Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce adopts new investment schedule to add more value to Chamber membership

December 5, 2006

Greer, SC (12/5/06)- The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce has adopted a new innovative investment schedule to give more value to Chamber members.  The new schedule was unanimously adopted by the Chamber Board of Directors and will go into effect on January 1, 2007.

Currently, Chamber members pay dues to the Chamber based on the size of their business or the number of employees.  This new schedule will be shifting from the current model to one with dues being paid based on programs and services that best benefit their business.  “The value-based Tiered Investment Schedule is something that we have been working on for over a year,” state Chamber President, John Kimbrell.  “Under the leadership of incoming Chairman, Phil Feisal we have modified our internal operations to give more value back to our members.” he adds.  This new investment schedule allows members to invest in the Chamber at the level that best fits their business and not strictly based on the size of the business.

“After reviewing our current dues system we realized that members could get more out of their investment through a different approach,” state Phil Feisal, 2007 Chairman of the Board.  “The Greer Chamber is the only Chamber in the upstate that offers involvement and participation in the Chamber in this matter.” he adds.
The new Tiered Investment Schedule allows for business to join the Chamber in one of six different tiers.  The tiers are:  Entrepreneur/Small Business Plan; Develop & Grow Plan; Connect & Build Plan; Business Innovation Plan, Regional Leader Plan; and the Cornerstone Member.  Members of the Greer Chamber can invest in the Chamber at any level and receive the benefits of that level.

Another attractive feature of this new model is the sponsorship opportunities that are available.  Many members desire more impact and exposure for their business through sponsorship opportunities and additional programs and this tiered approach allows members to receive savings on program sponsorships.
“We live in a competitive environment and this new system allows for businesses to maximize their investment in order to capture the most customers and save them the most money,” state Kimbrell.  “We are excited about this new innovative membership approach and we want to make sure that members invest in the level that best fits their business.” he adds.

All current Chamber members have received the new membership information.  As in the past, membership fees will continue to be due on the month in which they joined.  For additional information about this new investment schedule please contact the Greer Chamber of Commerce at 864.877.3131.

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization in the Greer area representing over 565 area businesses.
