Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce Approves Its Political Action Committee

(GREER, SC) The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce has announced the approval of the Chamber’s first political action committee (PAC). The PAC is designed to support state and local level of government officials who support the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda.
“This Political Action Committee will help support elected officials that are pro-business and support the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda, therefore making the area a better environment for business,” said Chamber President and CEO John Kimbrell.
The Chamber’s Legislative Agenda is a list of legislative items that are designed to make its businesses more competitive and successful, such as affordable health insurance, workers’ compensation reform, road funding, and economic development. The Legislative Agenda is developed by the Chamber membership.
The Chamber Board of Directors has approved the Board of Trustees for the Greer Chamber Political Action Committee. The trustees include:

Amanda Somers, 2008 Chamber Chairman, states “the creation and development of this Political Action Committee is another example of how the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is remaining proactive for our members. This committee will help with the issues set forth in the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda which will make us a stronger voice for our member businesses.”
