June 23, 2016

(Greer, SC) The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce they have been awarded the Grand Award in the category of Campaigns by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) for chambers with budgets under $1 million. The Chamber was recognized for their GreerMade Campaign, which was recently named the Best campaign piece by the Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (CACCE).

“We are excited for the Chamber to be recognized nationally, but more importantly we are excited to gain recognition for the companies that truly personify what is means to be GreerMade,” said Mark Owens, President/CEO.

The 2016 ACCE Awards for Communication Excellence were awarded to 43 chambers from over 200 submissions. Only 9 chambers in the country were awarded a Grand Award, of which only 3 were awarded to chambers with budgets under $1 million. The Greer Chamber will compete for the Best in Show award to be announced in August.

ACCE presents “Awards of Excellence” in four categories: Advertising and Marketing, Campaigns, Electronic, and Publications. Within each category, there are winners for chamber with budgets above $1 million, and chambers with budgets below $1 million. The best in each of the four categories, receives a “Grand Award.” Winners of the Grand Award go on to compete for the Best in Show, which recognizes the best piece across all categories.

Launched in February, GreerMade is the only Greer based certification program for locally crafted products. It is meant for all that create, build or produce – from manufacturers to sole proprietors and everyone in between. Whether the product is big or small, handmade or mass produced, GreerMade rewards the ingenuity and time that goes into each one. In addition to certifying goods as locally produced, the program helps promote both the careers and companies to the next generation of workforce. For more information visit www,

By partnering with local school districts, career centers, colleges and universities, the program showcases GreerMade certified companies to students through unique training opportunities, apprenticeship and internship programs, as well as various events and functions. By connecting students, schools and employers the program aims to help change the perception problem that has plagued the manufacturing industry.
