GREER CHAMBERS PARTNERS WITH MAIN STREET EVENTS Annual Family Fest and Oktoberfest events management contract executed

GREENVILLE, SC:  Main Street Events, Inc. a Greenville-based festival and event Production Company has announced a partnership with the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce to serve as exclusive event Management Company for two of its annual events, the 24th Annual Greer Family Fest and the 3rd Annual Greer Station Oktoberfest.  The GGCOC is the owner of both events.

“Our goal as a Chamber is to enhance all opportunities for our membership and the Greer community, and these two events are great for visibility in our downtown,” stated John Kimbrell, President of the GGCOC.  “Main Street Events brings a wide variety of expertise and turnkey operation to our events, which will allow our staff and board to focus on our core business.  Both events will benefit greatly from this partnership, and the community will benefit from a new growth of activity in downtown Greer.”

The 24th Annual Greer Family Fest, scheduled for May 9-10 of 2008, is designed and sponsored by the community for the community. Local businesses and individuals volunteer time, funds, and ideas to create an event where families experience fun activities and enjoy being together with other families from around the Upstate. Last year’s event drew an estimated 20,000 festival-goers, and planners anticipate an even greater response as the event is promoted stronger than ever for 2008.

Not only is the Greer Station Oktoberfest (event date to be determined) centered on German themes, it will be embracing local artists and celebrating their creative works. Local artists will be displaying their work, including everything from oil paintings, ceramics, photography, woodwork, jewelry all day on downtown Greer. If you are interested in participating, please download an application from the Art Exhibit page and send it to the Greer Chamber of Commerce.

In the agreement, MSE will manage all aspects of event production including corporate sales, marketing, logistical operations, finance, entertainment, volunteers, vendor coordination and website management.  MSE will work closely with GGCOC staff and Board of Directors on plans for each event.
