Greer CPW to Celebrate Centennial Celebration

Greer CPW proudly announces its 100th year of service to the Greer Community andsurrounding areas. Since Greer CPW was established in 1913, it has been proudly and reliably serving the Greer community and surrounding areas with electric, water, and sewer services. Natural Gas service was added by 1957. Today Greer CPW’s mission is to “make optimum use of its human and technical resources in order to provide the best possible water, natural gas, electric, and wastewater services at the least possible cost…”

Gene Gibson, Chairman, Board of Commissioners, for the company, states “We are proud to be celebrating this milestone in our history. There are not many companies that make it to celebrate their 100th year of doing business. I hope this proves that Greer CPW has been managed throughout its history in a way that has been pleasing to its customers. Today we take a stance that keeps our customers well-being in the forefront of all we do.”

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Greer CPW is planning a Centennial Celebration that will take place at their Administrative and Operations complex on April 27, 2013. The event will begin at 4pm and end with a fireworks display at 8pm. Details of the celebration are still in the planning stages but events ready for announcement include:

  • Balloon artist
  • Cotton candy booth
  • Snow cones
  • Popcorn
  • Slides
  • Obstacle challenges
  • Amusements provided by Will and Kris
  • New River Blue Grass Band

  • Scholarship Awards
  • Art competition for local 3rd and 4th grade students
  • Fireworks display
