Mayor Rick Danner to Speak at June First Friday Luncheon

Mayor Rick Danner will speak on Horseshoes, Rabbits Feet and Four Leaf Clovers; Being Luck is Hard Work at the June 7 First Friday Luncheon, to be held at Greer City Hall. Held by the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Greer Memorial Hospital, the First Friday Luncheon is open to the community with registrations at www.greerchamber.com required. Cost is $10 for Chamber members and $15 for non-members. Other luncheon sponsors for the month of June include Greer State Bank and Frame Warehouse.
Rick Danner is serving his fourth term as mayor of the City of Greer. His tenure has covered one of the most progressive periods in the city’s history, including unprecedented industrial and commercial growth and construction of the city’s magnificent new Municipal Complex, which includes a three-story City Hall, a Police and Courts Complex, and the 12-acre Greer City Park to serve the community.
A native of Knoxville Tenn., his family moved to South Carolina, where he completed high school in Florence and earned his B.S. from Clemson University. He worked as a landscape designer for Harold Weldon and Associates in Cheraw, S.C. and Oconee Nurseries in Greenville, S.C. before opening Danner Landscape Management Inc. He owned and operated the full-service landscape design and construction firm for more than 20 years before joining the administration at Greer State Bank in 2002. He currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources and Security.
