Reservations Now Open for Greer Chamber's 72nd Annual Celebration

Less than 4 weeks until the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce’s 72nd Annual Celebration presented by Greer Memorial Hospital. The theme for this year’s event is, “All that Jazz,” and the event will feature jazz band, “The Blue Note Trio” to kick-off the event. The evening will be full of surprises and fun as the Chamber reviews their 2009 successes and looks into 2010. 2009 Greer Chamber of Commerce Chairman, Vic Grout, with Greer State Bank, will pass the gavel to Brian A. Martin, of Martin & Davis LLC, 2010 Chairman.

Keynote speaker is Brian F. Gunderson, the Managing Vice President of the “Campaign for Free Enterprise” with the United States Chamber of Commerce. The Campaign is a broad new effort to explain and advocate the benefits of a free, innovative, and entrepreneurial economy. In this capacity, Gunderson is responsible for providing strategic focus and day-to-day management of this important initiative. Before joining the US Chamber, Gunderson served as chief of staff at the U.S. State Department from 2005 to 2009, providing daily counsel to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, managing key policy initiatives, and helping oversee the operations of the 58,000-person department. He was involved in the full range of foreign policy efforts, including the Middle East peace process, the turnaround in Iraq, improving ties with India, U.S.-China relations, and international aspects of the credit crisis. He represented the United States in travel to more than 80 countries. Gunderson was educated at Marquette University and the University of Dallas, and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1982 to 1988. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife and two sons.

The event will take place at the Embassy Suites on Thursday, January 14, 2010. A Cocktail Reception will be at 5:30pm featuring The Blue Note Trio and the dinner and program begins at 7:00pm. Tables are available for $600 for Chamber members and $750 for non-members. Tables include 10 seats. Individual Chamber members may also attend for $60 and non-members, $75.
